[CC] Agent Teams inside Elyra
Start the native [CC] Agent Teams in an Elyra terminal, with the teammates opening as panel splits.
[CC] has a mode of its own for working with several agents at the same time, the Agent Teams. Elyra exposes that mode inside the terminal, with a difference in form: the teammates open as native panel splits, instead of separate windows or processes that you have to look for.
How to start
elyra claude-teamsThe command only works inside an Elyra terminal — it is a pass-through to [CC], not an agent of its own. Any other argument is passed straight to [CC].
When to use this, and when not to
| You want | Use |
|---|---|
| Several agents working in parallel, coordinated by conversation, with cards linked on the Canvas | Elyra’s own orchestration: the conductor and the linked cards |
| The native Agent Teams mode of [CC], with its splits | claude-teams |
They are different things with similar names. Elyra’s messages and roles are not the Agent Teams mechanism, and vice versa: a teammate of [CC] is not an Elyra agent role.
Limits and scope
- It depends on [CC] being installed and on a version that supports Agent Teams. If the installed version does not have the feature, the command passes through and [CC] is the one that answers — Elyra does not invent the mode.
- Only inside the Elyra terminal. Outside it there is no panel to split.
- The splits belong to the terminal panel. Closing the panel ends what was in it; the teammates’ work is not resumed automatically.
