Elyra Cloud: what it is

The projects, terminals and agents of one of your computers, reached from any browser or from another Elyra, at an address of your own.

View Markdown

Elyra Cloud makes one of your computers reachable from anywhere. Its projects, terminals, agents, Git and notes are one address away:

https://<your-username>-cloud.elyra.sh

Everything keeps running on the computer that is your Cloud. Closing the tab, the browser or the other device stops nothing: the agents keep working, and you come back from wherever you are by signing in with your Elyra account.

Which computer can be your Cloud

Any of them, on Windows, macOS or Linux. There are two ways to turn it on:

Way Who it is for How
From the app A computer with a screen where Elyra is already installed: the office desktop, a laptop that stays on. In Settings, Elyra Cloud → Make this computer your Cloud. See Turn on your Cloud.
Headless Linux server A cloud machine or a home server with no monitor, reached over SSH. One command installs Elyra as a service. See Install on a Linux server.

Both end up in the same place: the same address, the same sign-in with your Elyra account, the same full Elyra.

An account has one Cloud at a time. Turning the Cloud on in one computer takes the role away from the one that was the Cloud before.

How to use your Cloud

  • From the browser, on any computer: open the address and sign in with your account.
  • From another Elyra: on another computer with the app, use Elyra Cloud → Use the Cloud of another computer, and the Cloud’s projects open there as if they were local.

Both are covered in Access your Cloud.

Who can turn it on right now

Until October 9, 2026, only people on the Founder plan can turn on Elyra Cloud: the account refuses everyone else. After that date, it opens to anyone with an active license.

What you need

  • An Elyra account with an active license and a username chosen in the account (it forms the address).
  • A computer that stays on and online for as long as you want to reach it.
  • You do not need to open a port on the router or configure DNS: the computer connects outward.

Limits

  • The computer that is the Cloud uses one device of your license, like any activated Elyra.
  • Sign-in depends on the Elyra account being reachable: it checks the license and authorizes each access.
  • In the browser, the mobile emulator is not available, nor is chat with OpenCode, Grok, Cursor and Antigravity.
