Activate the Linux server

Approve the Linux server's code in your Elyra account to open access.

A new server only opens access after you approve the activation code in your Elyra account. Until then, the server’s network stays closed.

Who can activate right now

Until October 9, 2026, only people on the Founder plan can activate an Elyra Cloud server: the account refuses the activation for everyone else. After that date, activation opens to anyone with an active license.

Step by step

  1. At the end of the installation, the terminal shows a code (like HMBC-XW49), an address and, if you chose it, a QR Code.
  2. Open the address (app.elyra.sh/ativar) or point your phone’s camera at the QR Code.
  3. Sign in to your Elyra account, if you are not already, and approve the activation.
  4. The terminal says the server is up and shows your address: https://<your-username>-cloud.elyra.sh.

Approving the activation uses one device of your license. If the license has no free device, the terminal lists the devices in use and asks you to free one at app.elyra.sh/conta; the server tries again on its own, with a new code.

The code expires

When the code expires, the server generates another on its own and the terminal tells you. If the installer has already finished or you closed the terminal, see the current code in the service log:

journalctl --user -t elyra-cloud -f

To force a new code, restart the service and look at the log again:

systemctl --user restart elyra-cloud.service
journalctl --user -t elyra-cloud -f

Always approve the latest code that appears: the earlier ones stop being valid.

Leaving the terminal undoes nothing

The installer waits for approval for up to 15 minutes. After that, or if you interrupt the wait (Ctrl+C), it ends without undoing the installation: the server keeps waiting for approval, and you can approve later, following along in the log.
