## Open an address

1. Open the project's **Browser** screen.
2. Use the **address bar** in the toolbar.
3. Type the address and confirm.

The bar accepts `http(s)` addresses and also local file paths. Everything that enters here is external content seen inside the app — treat the open page as you would treat it in an ordinary browser.

## Back, forward and reload

- **Back** and **forward** move through the tab's history.
- **Reload** fetches the current page again.

All three exist in the toolbar **and** in the page's context menu — including over the page itself, when you want to reload without hunting for the button.

**Forward** exists only in the full command set: if you cannot find it on a surface, it remains available from the command line.

## Address or search

The same bar does both:

- If what you typed **is an address**, it navigates.
- If it **is not**, the text becomes a **search on the engine configured** in **Settings → Browser**.

The search engine is your preference, not the project's. One of the supported engines requires you to provide your account's session link to work.

As you type, the bar shows **suggestions** of destinations.

## Search within the page

The in-page search is local to the open tab: it highlights occurrences in the content and lets you jump between them.

- The shortcut is captured when focus is on the page — that is, it applies to the page, not to the whole app.
- The search bar has next, previous and close.
- While a tab is being torn down, the search is best-effort and **may not highlight**: that is a transition state, not a defect in the content.

## Difference between the two searches

| Search | Where it looks |
|---|---|
| **Address bar** | On the internet, through the configured engine |
| **Search within the page** | Only in the text of the page already open |

## On the command line

Navigating, going back, going forward, reloading and waiting for page conditions have their own commands, useful for automation. See [Automation: navigation and reading](/docs/en/ferramentas/navegador/automacao-referencia-navegacao/).
